STORY OF A MOTHER, WIFe AND PHOTOGRAPHER
Hello, I'm Jo, owner of Iris & Ivy Photography. I am an experienced wedding photographer based in Stourbridge in the West Midlands, shooting weddings all over the UK, Europe and beyond. I’ve been passionate about photography my entire life, and have been shooting weddings and portraits professionally for almost a decade. My love for the job continues to grow year on year, capturing people's love stories is such a huge honour and makes me feel so happy inside! I feel extremely lucky to do what I do, capturing some of people’s happiest ever moments is a great honour.
I have a passion for travel and have been lucky enough to see some amazing places on many different trips around the world, including photographing stunning weddings in Bali, Italy and France. The desire to explore and capture all corners of the globe with my camera will never cease, but my priorities have slightly differed now. I am very fortunate to have a beautiful young family and they are my everything. I married my best friend, a wonderful graphic designer who I met at University, and together we have two wonderful children. Becoming a mother has helped me realise how valuable time and memories are. Don’t loose them, preserve them. This is why I have such drive and passion to capture these moments for people. My experiences of different people, places and cultures and now family life, has made me into the photographer I am today.
MY APPROACH
I like to keep things simple, my approach consists of photographing people in their natural element with no awkward or cheesy poses. With a modern and romantic style I like to tell peoples stories in an informal and honest fashion. I take in the finer details too, I understand the time and effort that goes into the preparation for your day. Often the smaller details can be forgotten all too quickly.
Relaxed and discreet, I'm not going to manufacture moments for the camera or distract you or your guests from your day. I believe that natural interaction between people in love will create beautiful moments. I simply step back and capture what your day brings. Every wedding is beautifully unique and I feel so privileged to be part of something so special.
